Belarusian biathletes won 12 medals at the Cup of the Strongest in Raubichi

More than 70 biathletes from Belarus and Russia took part in the competition and played for 10 sets of awards.

Our athletes eventually won 12 medals - four of each denomination. Anton Smolski took three individual golds: in sprint, pasciut and mass start. Dinara Smolskaya was silver medalist in sprint and pursuit, Dmitry Lazovsky took second place in mass start. Ilya Avseenko won bronze in sprint, Stepan Danilov - in pursuit, Irina Shakleina - in mass start.

In addition, Anton and Dinara Smolskiy won the singles mixed, while Anna Sola and Ilya Avseenko were second in this event. The foursome also reached the third step of the podium in the mixed relay.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated the national biathlon team: “I congratulate the strongest biathlon athletes on their excellent performance at the Cup! Belarusian athletes have confirmed their high skill and will to win on the Raubich tracks. Your successes strengthen the glorious traditions of the national biathlon and inspire young people to take up sports,” the President said. The President wished the biathletes wellbeing, good health and inexhaustible energy for new achievements.

Minister of Sport and Tourism Sergey Kovalchuk also noted: “Your fortitude, skill and unbreakable will to win have become a vivid example of sports spirit and achievement of high results. Each of you has contributed to the success of the team, demonstrating the highest class and professionalism".
